Loadshedding hours to decrease from Wednesday

Loadshedding hours is known to decrease officially from Sunday. The melting of ice in the Himalayas and the pre-monsoon has made water level in the river and reservoir, to rise significantly which has unofficially reduced the load-shedding time. Bizmandu reports the loadshedding hours to be reduced by 2 hours to 8 hours per day, quoting NEA Executive Director Arjun Kumar Karki and the new schedule to release on June 1, 2014 (Jestha 18, 2071). Earlier the power cut hours was decreased by 2 hours on May 14, 2014.
Nepal being the second richest country in the world with water resources, has the enormous potential of producing 83,000 MW but we are living under maximum 12 hours per day of load-shedding for this year 2071. According to the studies, we are running short of 550 Mega watt electricity as the production lies around 750 Mega watt. Though the biggest Hydropower project Upper Tamakoshi is in full swing to generate 456 Mega watt electricity, it is not expected to give in to the national grid before mid 2016. Until then, we will have to live under no electricity. As Industries cannot sustain and flourish without the NEA supply, whole development of the country is under seize due to the loadshedding. Even after the operation of Upper Tamakoshi hydropower, the loadshedding won't be wiped out as the demand will also increase then. So, Government need to invest more in different hydropower projects in parallel so as to remove the loadshedding completely.

Kantipur TV to broadcast Fifa world cup 2014 in Nepal

May 30, 2014: Kantipur Television, the leading Television station in Nepal, is known to telecast all of the Fifa world cup 2014 games. Aryan films production which has got the rights to broadcast the mega event in Nepal, is working with Kantipur to air all the games live. Government owned Nepal Television has been broadcasting the previous world cup games but it is not clear whether NTV will also be airing it. It was NTV and Avenues TV who telecast the world cup 2010 matches with Media Hub holding the sole rights.
Sony Six channel in India has won the exclusive rights to cover the event, from Kick off, Closing, actual games to the run up to the FIFA world cup 2014 that showcases special programs like World cup history, team and players profile. Sony Six will be another option to watch the live games if it is included in your cable. I have recently auto searched channels in my cable TV-> Subisu where I did not find the channel. But I am sure if the match previews are worth it, they will definitely bring it, as no one wants to miss the opportunity to cash the enormous enthusiasm for the biggest event of the world.
It is also not clear if Starsports India (the biggest sports TV in this subcontinent) will be showing the world cup events.

Teledensity surges to 88.5 percent, known to cross 100 within this year.

Teledensity indicates overall telecom development of a country, which is measured as the no of phones per 100 people. According to the latest MIS report from NTA (Nepal Telecommunication Authority), Teledensity has surged to 88.5 percent in the country with the total  no of phone lines reaching 2.35 Million in which mobile alone contributes to more than 2 Million. As all of the investment and competition in telecommunication is happening in the mobile sector, the no of mobile lines are increasing  very rapidly. Government owned Nepal Telecom and Private Giant Ncell are the top two telcos that have their services all around the country, which are going fierce with the expansion of their services to vie for the top spot. Though Ncell ousts Nepal Telecom in the total no of SIM/ phone lines distributed ( 1 Million vs 1.1 Million), the comparison of active no of subscribers can only be ensured if we see the VLR (Visitor Location Register) of both the operators as VLR shows the active no. of subscribers at an instant. If we keep on analyzing Teledensity with the no of SIM/phone lines distributed, it is expected to cross 100 percent within this year.
GSM is the most popular technology here in Nepal with almost 2 million users and have a huge addition in each month whereas CDMA and Landline subscribers are growing at a very lazy rate. The internet penetration rises to 31.69 from 31 percent in the month of Chaitra, which is mainly due to the expansion of GPRS and 3G across the country by NT and Ncell. These days NT is more aggressive in expanding their network whereas Ncell is promoting their already existing network with schemes/offers. With the current trend, the internet penetration will swell to 50% within this year.
Nepal Telecom still leads over Ncell in data segment as shown in the previous month post at Nepalitelecom.com.

How to deal with stealing of mobile phone.

As the mobile phone prices grow heavy with the eye catching features, there are more chances of getting it stolen. Phones ranging from a medium level smartphone to the flagship phones, are most likely to be stolen. Even if such phones reach someone unintentionally, there is very less probability that he/she will return it. I  have tried to deal with many lost phones from my friends, neighbor and relatives, but have succeeded in single or a two in getting back the lost phone. So people carrying smartphones themselves must be careful in handling their phone to prevent stealing, also you have to act precisely in case it gets stolen. Here are some of the tips you have to keep in your mind.

Save your phone details.
As the phone is prone to be lost anytime, you have to save the phone model and the unique IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number somewhere. As operators could track or even black list a phone with IMEI, you have to keep the IMEI of the phone along with the proof that it belongs to you. Even the phone box carriers the IMEI with it. Cloud is the best place to save the text file or the snapshot of the phone box. You should do it on the very day you bought the phone.

Use security lock or PIN to lock the phone.
There are some phones with which you can lock the phone with PIN code so that they could not easily use the phone or take out the private data of yours. Try putting the PIN code if you have it in your phone.

Keep your phone near to you.
Phones are more likely to be stolen when you keep your phone a little far. As you cannot feel the phone, you are not aware when you actually left it to be stolen. Although you put your phone near to you may be inside your pocket, make sure it fits well inside so that it is not easy to steal it out or drop on its own.

Install a tracking app.
There are Android, Windows and iOS apps that can track your phone once it gets stolen. Some phone with internet connection provides you the location of the phone whereas some sends you the mobile number of the new SIM that is used after being stolen through SMS.

Report to Police immediately.
Even if you cared most for your phone, there are some accidents that make you loose your phone. Once the phone is lost, do not panic. First thing you need to do is report that to Police, which can be used later as an evidence to show it to the carrier or to claim your insurance.

Disable your SIM.
If your lost mobile gets in to the hand of a criminal and it is used in some of the criminal acts, you may be responsible as the number is registered on your name. So after having registered of the phone lost, disable the SIM card from the security number you have or contact your operator, instead of waiting for him/her to pick up the phone.

Contact your operator.
Some operator even directly entertain the lost phone complains and they will help you get the phone after filing a complain with a proof of owning the phone with the unique IMEI. Otherwise you could ask them to black list the phone to be used in their network. Nepal Telecom is yet to formalize the procedure to take complains for the genuinely lost phone.

Woda number cha and Cha Ekan Cha

The production team which brought us feeble comedy "Cha Ekan Cha" in the year 2070, is known to make another comedy movie entitled "Woda number cha". Despite the weak presentation, the movie joined the crore club and was one of the blockbuster of the year 2070. Six actors namely Dipak Raj Giri, Shibahari Paudel, Jitu Nepal, Sandip Chetri, Kedar Ghimire and Sitaram Kattel will also be starring in the movie, whereas Director Dinesh DC and Actress Nita Dhungana won't be repeated, as merocinema.com and onlinekhabar reported quoting Dipak Raj.
Nirmal Sharma "Gaida" of comedy serial "Tito Satya" along with Dipak's reel life partner Deepashree Niraula are the helping hands for Dipak to make a "Genuine" comedy movie that is in final stage of writing. With the name itself and the production team, people started speculating if "Wada number cha" is a sequel of Cha Ekan Cha, Dipak clarified the movie not to start from where the previous movie ended.
