CNN has placed Nepalese drink 'Raksi' in the list of world's 50 most delicious drinks. With water topping the list, next to Coca-cola (second in the list), Coffee (third) and Beer (fourth), our very own 'Raksi' is spotted in the 41st position winning over Indian 'Lassi' and German's Fanta.
Describing the Raksi, CNN writes in the report as : Made from millet or rice, Raksi is strong on the nose and sends a burning sensation straight down your throat that resolves itself into a surprisingly smooth, velvety sensation.
Explaining the usage of Raksi CNN further puts Raksi as: Nepalese drink this home brew to celebrate festivals, though we think that the prized drink itself is the reason to celebrate.
With this report, Nepal will now also be known as the land of Raksi along with several other identities as: Highest peak on Earth(Mount Everest), Top 10 out of 14 Biggest Mountains on Earth, Birthplace of Buddha, Second richest in Water Resources, and many more.
