Breaking News: Agreement between Government and Adhibasi Janajati (NEFIN)

Government and agitating Janajati Adhibhasi Federation (NEFIN) has made a 9 point deal, after which NEFIN opts to call off all the protests program nationwide. NEFIN has been pressuring Government for ethnicity based Federalism to be put in New Constitution, from 20 may 2012 in a call of three days General Strike and had earlier decided to continue with the strike if government would not listen to their demands. Here are the details of 9 point deal.
- To implement the recommendations by State Restructuring committee for ethnicity base federalism.
- To implement proportionate and inclusive election system in new constitution with 60 percent PR  (Proportional Representation) and 40 percent FPTP (First Past The Post)
- To implement proportionate representation in each states positions and give preference to marginalized communities.
-  To implement autonomous states with full independent authority.
-  Government to mend Tharu Museum destroyed during agitation.
-  To let go NEFIN cadres arrested who were involved in atrocities during bandh.
-  To implement all previous agreement by Government with NEFIN.
-  Government to rethink agreement with Bahun Chhetri to list them in Aadibasi.
-   NEFIN to put off all the protest programs.
