Hike in Loadshedding and Electricity tariff.

Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has increased the load shedding hours, just 4 days after the increase of the electricity tariff up to 20 percent. Earlier, City supply cut was dropped to 35 hours due to monsoon season, but now that India has cut off the 35 Mega watt supply to the National Grid, NEA hikes the load shedding hours to 46 hours per week.
The new load shedding schedule is going to be effective from 20th August, Monday (Bhadra 4).
Though NEA has not increased the tariff for householders users consuming less than 20 units (KWH) of electricity monthly, the new tariff for the users consuming more than that will be now from Rs 7.30 to Rs 11.0.
New Load shedding comes into play not only due to India's 35 Mega watt cut but also due to the 100 MW increase in electricity demand and the low accumulation of water in the reservoir.
