Night bus service in Kathmandu from yesterday.

Kathmandu Metropolitan in association with Nepal Yatayat Byabasahi Rastriye Mahasangh (a transport entrepreneurs federation) has begun night bus service in Kathmandu from Yesterday. Minster for Foreign Affairs along with Federal and Local Developement, Narayan Kaji Shrestha inaugurated the service yesterday evening in a small event at Shanti batika, Ratnapark by being a passenger himself sitting in the first row of the bus. This bus service is going to aid people working at night shifts and other night business. People used to suffer even in metro city like Kathmandu to travel at night due to unavailability of public vehicles and unmanaged taxi fares.

Though it is told that 14 buses would run in Kathmandu and Lalitpur from Ratnapark and around Ring road, only four buses were operational from yesterday. Officials added more buses will be operational as the installation of solar powered stations at various location gets done. The bus, known to include one armed security personnel and is under CCTV surveillance and is having its service from 8 pm to 11 pm. The night bus fares is made same as that that of day time, and the fare to increase after 3 months.
Available routes for the night bus are:
1. Ratnapark to Sahidgate to Kalimati to Rabhibhawan to Kalanki and Back
2. Ratnapark to Bhrikuti Mandap to Kamal Pokhari to Gyaneshwor to Maitidevi to Purano Baneshwor to Gaushala to Jorpati and Back
3. Ratnapark to Singhadurbar to Babarmahal to Tinkune to Sinamangal and back.
4. Ratnapark to Thapathali to Kupondole to Pulchowk to Jawalakhel to Lagankhel and back.
