Another promising movie in the full on promotional campaign -Chadke (a new nepali movie) releases it's first trailer and posters in an press event in Kathmandu. Being based on city gangsters story, Chadke is written and directed by Nigam Shrestha and produced by the hit duo (of Loot)- Madhav Wagle and Narendra Maharjan.
The movie stars the super hit duo Saugat Malla and Dayahang Rai (from Loot). Robin Tamang- the rockstar of Nepal from the band Robin and the new Revolution, ( and former Robin and Looza) is also debuting in the movie along with other new actors like Bipin Karki, Kameshwor Chaurasiya, Nikun Shrestha and Safal KC. Actress Namrata Shrestha is also seen in the movie with the gangster looks and a picture of her riding bullet in the promotional picture looks simply awesome. Other amazing actors include Arpan Thapa (Batch no. 16), theater artist Sunil Pokharel, Pratik Raj Neupane ( Khatri of Loot and the lead guitarist of the metal band Binaash).Cinematographer and Poster Designer are the two crew members that are being noted much in Nepali cinema these days, and those works are performed by Sanjay Lama and Anand Maharjan (the designer of the promotional materials).
The trailer looks stunning with the Neta (Saroj Mani Pandit) played by Sunil Pokharel, panch badar gang with Aslam, Tate, Boksi, Soli and leader Chewang Lama played by Robin Tamang, Royal Gang and Psycho Bhote played by Dayahang Rai, Kuri Gang. With the trailer, it seems there will be Gang fights, gun shots, blood shed, Political conspiracy, and amusing intermingled plots. The movie is planned to release Februaury 2013, till then we expect more trailers, posters and some hint for the plot too. Lets keep our finger crossed. Four Nepali movie releases this weekend with "Visa Girl", "Letter", "Jai Hos" and "Hello Pakriti" of which of course most of the people are choosing this movie that I am going to review now. Released at a time when a new Maoist party led by Mohan Baidhya, have barred foreign movies esp Hindi movies to screen in Cinema Halls, Visa Girl is going good till now with almost full occupancy in the multiplexes. CG Entertainment's first Venture along with Reecha, Vinay production, "Visa Girl" is written and directed by Prachanda Man Shrestha.
Visa Girl is a simple comedy with three guys who are crazy to go abroad esp. U.S.A. Aditya- a teacher, and three times Visa reject played by Vinay Shrestha, Sandesh- a photographer and unsuccesful flirt with foreigners played by Karma, and Riyaz-a singer/guitarist in a local restaurant played by Raymond Das Shrestha who has a drunkyard father, are ghost-riddened to go abroad (Bidesh Jane bhoot sawar) to get rid of the pollution, loadshedding and all their personal problems. As they meet a green card holder girl Stuti played by Reecha Sharma who is in Nepal to do a fundraiser for a social cause, they dream of going to America-their dream country, being her boyfriend. They mingle quite fast with her and the chemistry in each one grows to impress and make her fall in love with them. Each one tries hard to impress her with their babbling shots and divide-rule formula, which she handles diplomatically not to disappoint and hurt them.
They even search for what a girl looks in guys in trying to please her, and find honesty, sense of humor, Intelligence and Chocalates, out of which they all choose to take chocalates-the easy one to impress her.
On the other hand Reema Bishwokarma, Salony Rajbhandari, Menuka Pradhan Characters are falling for Aditya, Sandesh and Riyaz respectively and are always there when they are in need of some favors/suggestions.
Enough of storyline...I am not going to tell the whole story here... Visa Girl is sort of balanced with balanced story/screenplay yet simple and short. All the actors fit in the characters and there is not a single overacting shots to tag the actors. Funny dialogues and sequences will make you laugh loud in the theater like passport lai Dhup balera puja, funny Tshirt prints wore by karma, foreign girl speaking Nepali and a child saying "hamro hostel ko mam ko ta junga cha" and many (don't even remember now). Movie is relatively slow in the second half as compared to the pick-up of the first and one hour 45 minutes falls short having 4 songs and an expectation for big climax, now I remember why Reecha Sharma had told not to expect big from the movie. But there is not even a single dull moment in the movie as Reecha Sharma told in the recent T.V. show. Two time lapse videos, one from day to night with Shoyambu in the backdrop and another cloud moving in the sky taken at Maitighar Chowk are really splendid. A full entertainer also gives a clear cut message to all the people who take being in foreign country esp U.S.A as their ultimate dream and dare do anything to get a entry ("Visa")-Kudos to Prachanda Man Shrestha for bringing out such a simple story with creative works, comedy touch sequences and another message to care about your identity(being a Nepali) that's what the song "Yo man ta mero Nepali ho" meant being there.
Renasha Bantawa Rai's Choreography/direction in the song "Ekkai chinnma" song is awesome with the magnificent looks of Patandhoka Mandir area and the dusk in a hill. Another thing to praise is the background score that suits the mood and elements of the sequences. Keki Adhikari's "creepy" cameo is not that interesting in contradiction to Neema Rumba and Nisha Adhikari much glamorous presence and adds much fragrance to the movie.
A high recommendation to all Nepali from my side and a sure shot hit.

Ten Unbelievable incidents in Narayan Gopal's life. 1. Narayan Gopal is one of the singer who had gained such heights of popularity with minimum number of song. He had just recorded 137 songs in his life. 2. Narayan Gopal registered himself as N. Gopal during his entrance to Radio Nepal. 3. Narayan Gopal's favorite singer was Mehdi Hassan. He too loved pehelmani (body building) like Mehdi Hassan who once believed that in order to be a good musician, one has to get into body building. Narayan Gopal even called himself as "Syando Pehelman"
4. Narayan Gopal's mother language is Newari but he had just sung three songs in newari, of which none went to record. 5. Narayan Gopal was first agreed and later barred from singing in the first Nepali movie "Maitighar". 6. Narayan Gopal never sang for any advertisement, he even protested for his song being used for an adverstisement in tuberculosis. 7. Narayan Gopal rode a bike all his life but he bought a car for "Sanskritik Sansthan" when he was managing director there. 8. Narayan Gopal sacked 40 artists from the job at "sankritik Sansthan" at a time near festive season of Dashain. Sushila KC, Haribansa Acharya and his own guru Manik Ratna were among them. 9. Narayan Gopal had received a single award for playback singing, and that was from Lions club which he rejected. That award is still at organizer Narendra Shrestha's house. 10. Narayan Gopal had even worked as a motor mechanic during his unemployed era.

Bollywood Actress Priyanka Chopra released her debut song "In my city" collaborating with Black eyed peas rapper cum musician Will.i.am. Recent hit movie Barfi Actress Priyanka said she had put a lot of effort in the album, and she was amazingly excited working together with the popular artist will.i.am in the studio and believes that her song will blow the world. She whereas refuted the probability of singing songs for the movie Krish 3 and Zanjeer (Remake of old Zanjeer) that was in rumor for sometime. "No, not as of now, because I have a contract with my label (Universal). But at some point, you never know. I probably will," says the actor, whose single has been produced by RedOne (they have also worked with Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez and Nicky Minaj). "I worked hard on the album over the past one and half years, including undergoing vocal training. The album launch was the result of all my vocal classes despite four films in the interim. My tutor would come with me to the sets," says Priyanka.
It is also known that the actress's single 'in my city' so impressed the three khans Amir Khan, Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan that they have praised the song in media. This is one of the rare occurrence that the three khans are in same position for someone/something.
The song "In my city" does not sound like a song from an Indian actress, when I first listened the song, it sounded so international with her husky voice and the music from will.i.am was awesome. Somewhere in the song she sounded like J.Lo and I believe this single will do big in the whole of the World Charts. Way to go Priyanka Chopra, and it would not be big surprise if she calls herself PC (short name for her singing career).

Nepal Telecom Authority is currently under discussion with Nepalese Telecom operators to discuss ways to sort out a set of regulations for domestic roaming between intra-country operators. Roaming is actually a major feature in GSM when it was first developed and the term referred to international roaming but later used in various other technologies and even in between two different technologies.
Roaming, in general allows a mobile subscriber to get services from another network when its home network is unavailable. The term was equally used for a limited mobility subscribers when the subscriber travels to a new location of the same network, it is said to be roaming subscribers even in it's own network. It is said that National Roaming or domestic roaming is not quite popular in world telecom scenario but NTA believes it will help maximise the utilisation of existing network, avoid duplication of network, and help new entrant grow till it rolls out its own network. Nepal Telecom, the only one operator that has its footprints in almost all districts and majority of VDC in Nepal, is quite reluctant to implement this sort of roaming as it smells conspiracy, only to save some new investments, other than having proper set of requirements to facilitate roaming.
New Mobile network operators like Smartcell, Nepal Satellite and even private giant Ncell will be benefitted from the domestic roaming. It's not that Nepal Telecom will be loosing their customers and revenue, proper regulations and policies in domestic roaming will encourage their extension to the remotest areas in Nepal with the abundant resources of Nepal Telecom and also increase their revenue with roaming calls somewhat expensive than normal calls.
National roaming is also seen as a different form of Infrastructure sharing and that helps maximize the network operators resources just like a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVN0) that is not even envisaged in Nepal till now. The regulator must not be biased to formulate any sort of policies that helps some new entrants but downgrades the incumbent operator, otherwise the new operators will always install BTS's in easy places (city areas) where there is much more traffic and gets coverage from existing operators in remote places(esp hilly, mountainous region) which worsen the competition in extending their coverage and provide better quality service.
Though there are many issued to be sorted for this, Nepalitelecom.com believes the discussion of NTA with operators will formulate a clear/unbiased policy to facilitate domestic roaming in the country. Source:
