North Eastern People especially Assamese, scattered all around different cities in India, continued to move back to their native lands for the fear of possible backfire over ethnic violence against Muslims in Assam. Thousands of north easterners have taken to railway stations in Mumbai, Chennai, Pune to head home from Wednesday night, following rumors about possible attack on them in social media and some even received sms with warning of possible revenge by Muslim groups if they don't leave the city. Muslim groups, furious about situation in Assam have killed some north easterners in Pune and even had a riot in Mumbai over the ethnic situation.
Targets have been mostly the students whose inhabitants are easy to identify, reports Indian media adding students to return home as their parents call them back home for the fear of possible violence.
There are rumors about the possible target on North easterners on Eid Day (Monday) to avenge the killings of Muslims by tribal in Assam.
