Spain vs Netherlands Prediction, Chile vs Australia and Columbia vs Greece prediction

La Roja is on a hat-trick this world cup, after the deserving win in FIFA WC 2010 and Euro 2012. The Oranjes will try to take revenge for their loss in South Africa but as the Spanish side is strong as always, I am not convinced of Netherlands to win. Star studded Espanya has numerous option to select even if some key players are injured. Atletico's Diego Costa is suffering from hamstring problem so he is unlikely to play in this match for which David Villa or Fernando Torres may be brought in to have some scores coming. Expect some goals with such world class players in both sides, and the cards... it will definitely be less than that of 2010 finals, but early 3 points is what I expect for Spain. Their style of playing (tiki-taka), world's best midfielders and winning trends, show they are not letting me down for this match. This crucial win will earn them enough points to top Group B so as to meet the Group A runner up and probably all other win to a hat-trick. Here is my prediction for all the matches on the Nepali date (Jestha 31).

Spain vs Netherlands.
Where: Arena Fonte Nova, Salvador
When: 12:45 am June 14 (Jestha 31)
Prediction: Spain 2 Netherlands 1

Head to head: 10, 5 won by Spain, 1 draw and 4 by Netherlands.

Chile Vs Australia
Where: Cuiaba
When: 3:45 am June 14 (Jestha 31)
Prediction: Chile 1 Australia 0

Head to head: 4, 3 win by Chile, 1 draw.

Colombia Vs Greece
Where: Belo Horizonte
When: 9:45 pm June 14 (Jestha 31)
Prediction: Colombia 1 Greece 1

Head to head: Single play which resulted in a win by Colombia.

Brazil vs Croatia, Mexico vs Cameroon Prediction.

As we (Nepal) are ahead of western time (having standard time of GMT+5:45), which is 8:45 hours ahead of Brazilian time, It is on June 13 (Jestha 30) here in our country that the very first game of the World cup 2014 kicks off with the host Brazil take on underdog Croatia. Though it seems vary rare that Croatia wins over the host Brazil, they will not leave any stone unturned to shock the host. Record has it that the host does not always start good with such immense pressure, and the nerve racking uproar can make best of Brazil to outperform or perform least. Neymar who is seen as the contender for the Golden boot, will definitely try to beat Croatia's inept defense and will score at least one. Croatia will suffer much in this match as his key player Mario Mandžukić (Bayern Munich forward) is suspended for this match due to the red card in the match against Iceland. Big pressure mounts on midfielder Luka Modric in this match. Lets see how will the underdogs play against this "favorite" team on paper.
I always love predictions and as I look back, I happen to cover some of the exciting events, like the Oscar awardsGolden Globe to Euro Cup 2012 to the Constituent Assembly election 2 in my blog. I was also the winner for the World cup 2006 predict and win contest held during my lecturing at Kathmandu Engineering College. This time, we are organizing a similar type of predict and win contest at office for FIFA world cup 2014. Administering the management of the contest and similar workload at office, I may not be able to post such predictions for every match but I will try to include the key matches. The reason: Like I already said-> I love predicting.

Here is my prediction for both the matches of Group A.
Brazil vs Croatia.
Where: Sao Paolo and in your TV/ Computer (just for fun!!).
When: Jestha 30 1:45 am (June 13).
Prediction: Brazil 2 Croatia 0

Head to head: Brazil had met Croatia two times before, in which Brazil won once, and another ended in a draw.

Mexico Vs Cameroon.
Where: Estadio Das Dunas, Natal
When: Jestha 30, 9:45 pm
Prediction: Cameroon 1 Mexico 0.

Head to head: Just 1, won by Mexico.
Disclaimer: As more of my intuition came into play for this prediction (with some football pundits remarks), do not blindly use this for betting. Also I may not predict the same in the Predict and win contest happening in my office.

World cup Football 2014 Schedule in Nepali Date and Time (PDF)

As the Fifa World cup 2014 is approaching near, people search for the news for the most celebrated event of the world and even download the schedule of the whole tournament. But the timings of all the matches are not available in our Nepali time and people need to do the conversion every time they need to see the timings. So I have done some compilation and calculation to put the schedule in Nepali date and time. Brazil is hosting the 20th International Men Football tournament and the opening ceremony is going to take place on Thursday June 12 at Sao Paulo before the kickoff of the match Brazil Vs Croatia (Nepali Time 01:45 Jestha 30, 2071).
Altogether 32 countries from Africa, Asia, America, and Europe are allocated to eight groups, each containing 4 teams. Each team play all other in the group stage, resulting in altogether of 48 matches (Six games in each group * eight group). Top two teams (due to the points) from each group qualify for the round of 16, and they play the knockout stages (Quarterfinal, Semifinal) to reach the Final. The Final match of World cup 2014 will be held at Marcana Stadium, Rio de Janerio on July 13 1:45 am Nepali time (Ashad 30, 2071) and the winner along with such prestigious cup, will get $ 35 million.
Nepali are crazy for Football and most of us don't miss a single match in this whole tournament despite the wee (awkward) hours. For this mega event there will be screenings in all of the sports bar, pubs and restaurants in Thamel, Durbarmarg of Kathmandu and in other cities too. Some locals even organize a gathering with the screening of the games through moderate Projector, with generator as a backup for Loadshedding hours. As power cut is expected to reduce more by then and the availability of screenings everywhere, people without battery backup need not worry much. Live streaming is another solution in the cities where 3G is available, but make sure you have enough balance and battery in your mobile.
Government owned Nepal Television (NTV) has been broadcasting the World cup tournaments from a very long time even Avenues TV did it for 2010 world cup through Media Hub. But it is not clear who has got the rights to telecast the world cup 2014 matches live in Nepal.

SAFF championship 2013 points table.

Click here for the SAFF Semifinal and final schedule.
Update: Host Nepal beat defending Champion India in the last game of their group stage match. Victorious Nepal won by 2 to 1 against the nearest neighbor, in a very crucial match at Dasarath Rangashala Stadium. Anil Gurung and Jumanu Rai scored for Nepal whereas Syed Nabi made a consolation goal in the injury time. With that, Nepal advances to Semifinal, leading the group A and will meet either Maldives or Afghanistan (Tomorrows match will decide) on Sunday, September 8th 2013. In an another match held in Halchowk Stadium, Pakistan beat Bangladesh 2 to 1 due to which India also advanced to Semis with head to head advantage over Pakistan ( not forgetting the own goal).
Here is the final point table for Group A.
After a last minute goal against Pakistan by Bimal Ghartimagar: 16 year old rising star, Nepal made a draw with Pakistan. In a match played in the daytime, India also shared the points with Bangladesh with similar injury time goal by captain Sunil Chhetri.
In group B matches yesterday, Maldives scored a record making 10 goals against Srilanka with double ha-trick from Ali Ashfaq whereas Afghanistan won against Bhutan by 3 goals to no.

Dasarath Rangashala Stadium pictures.

Now that SAFF Championship kicks off today (August 31, 2013) with match between host Nepal and one time winner Bangladesh, I am compiling some pictures taken in the venue Dasarath Rangashala Stadium, Kathmandu. As I am planning to watch the Nepal Vs Bangladesh Live in the stadium though it will be broadcasted live on Kantipur TV and even live streaming from kantipurtv.com/live, I am gonna add some more pictures in this blog if I manage to get the tickets beforehand and enter the stadium.
Here are the photos captured in the Dasarath Rangashala Stadium for different football events (though the stadium has witnessed some awesome concerts).
